Exercice 2 :
----------------
1°/ 1) f(1) ≤ f(3) est vrai.
2) f(-3) < f(2) est inconnu.
3) f(-4) ≤ f(4) est vrai.
4) L'équation f(x) = 0 admet quatre solutions est faux sur l'ensemble étudié.
5) Le maximum de f sur [-5 ; 2] est 4 est inconnu.
6) Le minimum de f sur [-5 ; 6] est - 3 est vrai.
2°/ 1) f(1) ≤ f(3) parce que la courbe est croissante sur x ∈ {-3 ; 5}
2) f(-4) ≤ f(4) parce que f(-4) ≤ f(-3) = 4 < 5 = f(4)
Exercice 3 :
---------------
1) a) f(x) = -2x² - 4x + 6
= -2[x² + 2x - 3]
= -2[(x² + 2x + 1) - 4]
= -2[(x + 1)² - 4]
b) f(x) = -2[(x + 1)² - (2)²]
= -2(x + 1 + 2) (x + 1 - 2)
= -2(x + 3) (x - 1)
= (-2x - 6) (x - 1)
c) Comme :
— -2x - 6 ≥ 0 si x ≤ -3
— x - 1 ≥ 0 si x ≥ 1
f(x) ≥ 0 si (-2x - 6) et (x - 1) sont de même signe, soit pour : x ∈ [-3 ; 1]
2) Comme la dérivée de f(x) = -2x² - 4x + 6
est f'(x) = -2 × 2x - 4
= -4x - 4
qui est positive pour -4x ≥ 4 soit pour x ≤ -1
et négative pour x ≥ -1
f(x) est donc croissante pour x ∈ ]-∞ ; -1]
et décroissante pour x ∈ [-1 ; +∞[
3) f(x) = 6 si -2x² - 4x = 0
x(-2x - 4) = 0
soit pour x = 0 ou pour -2x -4 = 0 donc pour x ∈ {-2 ; 0}
f(x) = 0 si (-2x - 6) (x - 1) = 0
soit pour -2x - 6 = 0 ou pour x - 1 = 0 donc pour x ∈ {-3 ; 1}
f(x) = -2x² si -4x + 6 = 0
soit pour x = 3/2
