Alfred Hitchcock was born in London on August 1899 and
entered the film industry in 1920. He left for Hollywood in 1939, where his
first American film, Rebecca, won an Academy Award for best picture. Some of
his most famous films include Psycho, The Birds and Marnie. Hitchcock created
more than 50 films. His films became renowned for their depiction of complex
psychological characters. Therefore, Hitchcock was nicknamed the "Master
of Suspense". He died in Los Angeles in 1980.
