Complétez les phrases suivantes en conjuguant le verbe au prétérit.
a. My mother walked back home yesterday evening because she missed the bus. (walk/miss)
b. Betty and Mark got married and I had a tasteful dinner in a fashionable restaurant last Saturday. (get married /have)
c. My cousin found a part-time job in a library last month.(find)
d. In 1789 computers didn't exist. (exist)
e. As soon as he could he went. to Disneyland. (can / go)

prétérit
Les verbes régulier + -d
s'ils se terminent par -sh, -ch, -o, -x on ajoute -ed
s'ils se terminent par consonne + -y = -ied (studied)
s'ils se teminent par consonne voyelle consonne = on double la consonne (= stopped)
aux formes négatives et interrogatives.
Comme au présent on utilise au auxiliaire. Ce sera le prétérit de "do" qui est "did"
L'auxiliaire portant déjà la marque du prétérit, le verbe retrouve alors sa Base Verbale.

"did not" = "didn't "en forme contractée
attention
règle non valable pour "be"puisqu'il est déjà auxiliaire.
